92-year-old British found guilty. Almost 60 years have passed since the crime

At the end of June 1967, the British police discovered the corpse of 75-year-old Dunne in her house in one of the towns in southwestern England. The autopsy showed that the woman was raped and then strangled. For nearly 60 years, investigation teams failed to determine the perpetrator of the crime.
In 2023, the investigation in this matter was re -opened, and one of the new activities that was carried out was the analysis of the DNA samples from the skirt, which the victim was wearing on the day of death. Studies have demonstrated compliance with Headley DNA. It was also found that fingerprints on the window, through which the perpetrator probably came in, also belong to him.
He remained unpunished for almost 60 years. A sentence was passed in a shocking case
In 1977, the man was sentenced to seven years imprisonment for rapes of women aged 79 and 84.
“For 58 years, this terrifying crime remained unsolved, and Ryland Headley remained unpunished,” said prosecutor Charlotte Ream, commenting on the verdict of the jury.
On Tuesday, the court in Bristol is to announce a penalty in this case. “Ryland Headley is standing in front of the perspective of spending the rest of his life in prison,” said Ream.
