From July 1 by about 5 percent The maximum basic salary rates and the maximum level of functional allowance are to increase, including Mayors, mayors, city presidents, their deputies and treasurers – according to the draft regulation published in the list of legislative works of the government.

The draft amendment to the regulation on the remuneration of local government employees provides for an increase of about 5 percent. amounts of the maximum level of basic salary and the maximum level of functional allowance of local government employees employed on the basis of selection. It comes, among others About commune heads, mayors and city presidents.

“The amounts have been determined in such a way that, together with a special addition, they do not exceed PLN 21,043.57, i.e. in accordance with Article 37 (3) of the Act on local government employees 11.2 times the base amount specified in the Budget Act for persons occupying managerial state positions. Pursuant to Article 9 (1) (2) (2) (2)) Management state positions in the amount of PLN 1,878.89 ” – indicated in the draft regulation of the Council of Ministers described by the PAP Local Government Service.

The project also involves increasing the amounts of maximum basic salary and the maximum level of functional allowance of local government employees employed on the basis of a vocation. This means that the increases will include, among others treasurers and deputies of commune heads and mayors. For this group of employees, the increase in maximum rates is also to be about 5 percent.

As indicated in the project, at the request of the local government, a new subgroup of positions in the marshal's offices of voivodships over 3 million inhabitants was separated. It is about the voivodship marshal, deputy marshal, other board members and treasurer in the province over 3 million inhabitants.

The draft regulation is to be adopted by the Council of Ministers in the third quarter of this year. The maximum basic salary rates and the maximum level of functional allowance specified in it are to apply to remuneration and allowances due from July 1, 2025.

Increases in maximum salary rates for commune heads, mayors, city presidents, their deputies and treasurers were planned in the amendment to the regulation on the remuneration of local government employees, which was processed since February this year. Ultimately, in the project adopted by the government, increases with equalization from March 1 covered only the minimum basic salary of local government employees.

The increase in basic salaries covered nearly 867 thousand. persons employed in local government units – MRPiPS.

Local government officials wanted to go further changes in the regulation, postulating increases for treasurers and commune heads. On the re -amendment to the regulations, restoring the increase in remuneration for employees from the choice and vocation were, among others Association of Polish Poviats, Association of Greater Poland Communes and Poviats, or the National Council of Treasurers.
