Settlements of former Orlen authorities are underway. One of the previous board members, Michał Róg, was detained a few days ago by ABW officers. This is related to the investigation into damage, among others Orlen Trading Switzerland.
We would like to remind you that this Swiss company-daughter of Orlen paid about PLN 1.5 billion of prepayments for the purchase of oil, mainly from Venezuela, at intermediaries with whom she had not previously cooperated. The raw material has never arrived, and the contract was concluded without security. Orlen had to take into account the copy of this amount in the financial results, which reduced its profits.

“I calmly expect the case to be referred to the court as soon as possible, because I have nothing to complain about “ – commented Michał Róg.
“I am convinced that the truth will win, a disclosure of all circumstances before the court will show the actual reasons for not realizing the contracts concluded by OTS and current problems with recovering money in this respect” – he pointed out.
Michał Róg admitted that he had made extensive explanations in the prosecutor's office and answered all the questions asked to him. He did not confess to the alleged deeds, because – as he said – I am not guilty of causing damage to Orlen Trading Switzerland and Orlen.

Michał Róg was a member of the Board of Orlen from September 2018 to February 2024. He supervised the areas of, among others oil trade, wholesale trade in refinery and petrochemical products, logistics, retail and electromobility.
