Gasoline prices have reached 8.09 PLN per liter at some stations, with diesel now at 9.09 PLN. However, prices vary depending on the network and location. In the largest networks, gasoline costs between 7.99 and 8.09 PLN, while diesel ranges from 8.99 to 9.09 PLN. Additionally, LPG prices are also rising, with autogas now exceeding 3 PLN per liter. According to e-petrol.pl forecasts, prices may soon range from 3.10 to 3.21 PLN per liter.
Experts from e-petrol.pl anticipate that by late September, prices will breach the psychological barriers of 8 PLN for gasoline and 9 PLN for diesel. They project weekly price ranges for various fuels: 7.97-8.11 PLN for E10 gasoline, 8.99-9.28 PLN for diesel, and 3.10-3.21 PLN for autogas.
The rise in fuel prices can be attributed to events in the global oil market, further complicated by supply issues. Saudi Aramco reportedly notified European refineries about cancellations of some scheduled deliveries for October. The increase in oil prices is rapidly reflected in wholesale fuel prices, which subsequently affects retail prices at stations. For Polish drivers, this indicates that refueling costs may continue to climb in the coming weeks.
Orlen has stated that it is securing alternative oil supplies, having contracted additional shipments from Norway, the UK, Kazakhstan, and both Americas. The escalating fuel prices have also become a topic of political debate, with the government considering measures to contain the price hikes, including taxing the extraordinary profits of fuel companies.
