Politicians from Kharkov suspected of appropriating 5.4 million Hryvien. They were to be issued, among others for fortifications

In Ukraine, a criminal group was worked out, led by the former deputy Merra Kharkov, who is suspected of appropriation of 5.4 million Hryvnia (approx. PLN 470,000) state funds intended for the construction of fortifications – Prosecutor General General Rusłan Krawczenko said on Saturday.

The group consisted of five people, including “two directors of enterprises and two individual entrepreneurs” – wrote Krawczenko in the Telegram messenger.

The group and director of one of the enterprises caught the illegal activity of the head of “Krrzak” and two entrepreneurs conducting sole proprietorships. They purchased materials for the construction of fortifications at prices overstated by over 30 percent. in relation to market.

The investigation showed that as a result of the criminal activity of the group, the state suffered losses of 5.4 million hryvnia. As part of the preparatory proceedings, other episodes of the group's activities will be examined.

All its members were detained.

“The funds stolen from the budget must be fully returned to the state. And this applies not only to this matter. I will warn all who want to get rich at the expense of defense or army – you will bear full responsibility, “said the Prosecutor General.
