Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukraine could survive the winter if the United States provides 5% of its available Patriot missile supply. He emphasized that acquiring 10% would enable Ukraine to neutralize all Russian ballistic missiles. Currently, Ukraine faces a critical shortage of interceptor missiles for its Patriot missile defense systems.
Zelensky acknowledged the urgency of the situation, highlighting the limited time before the onset of the Russian autumn-winter campaign aimed at destroying Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. “I have one percent of what we need,” he mentioned, indicating ongoing efforts to secure additional missile supplies through various means, including numerous phone calls and discussions.
He noted, “I am trying to exchange something for missiles… I am engaged in certain actions that I cannot fully disclose. This does not imply any illegality, but I cannot elaborate on them.”
