The former deputy head of the Moscow anti-doping laboratory, Timofey Sobolevsky, because of whom the Russian Olympic team was not allowed to participate in the 2018 Games, has been put on the wanted list. A card with his data appeared on the website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
It is not specified under what article Sobolevsky is wanted. In November 2015, WADA accused the Russian Federation of violating the rules – they said that the Russians were using meldonium and other prohibited substances. After this, the head of RUSADA, Grigory Rodchenkov, flew to the States with Timofey. Upon arrival, he gave an interview to NYT – he said that in Sochi, members of the Russian national team were pumped with drugs in order to dominate the tournament.
In 2017, Rodchenkov was arrested in absentia under the article “Abuse of official powers resulting in grave consequences.” Today, the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service announced that the United States is preparing a new series of publications about supposedly the next cases in which the majority of our athletes are doping. According to the SVR, these publications are supervised by Rodchenkov and Sobolevsky.
