In recent days, the recordings have been circulating on social media one of the most mysterious structures of the US army. This is about the specialized RQ-180 drone, which has been stationed in Cyprus for several weeks and which has just appeared in a recording that perfectly shows the appearance of this extraordinary machine.
We learned about the existence of this unmanned aircraft in 2013, when, after several months of investigation, it was revealed by the “Aviation Week & Space Technology” website. Interestingly, even though several years have passed since then, The U.S. Air Force has never officially confirmed the drone's existencewhich, according to the findings of “Aviation Week”, was built as a successor to the famous SR-71 Blackbird spy plane.

Its task is to collect various intelligence information, and this mission is carried out, among others, by: thanks to ultramodern radars. In practice, the drone allows, for example, tracking enemy movements in real time, which allows you to prepare in advance for its attack, observing enemy structures in infrared, or transmitting information in real time to allied attacking aircraft.

On the modern battlefield, where information is king, this type of machine is invaluable. All the more so because it can operate in all weather conditions, as well as in airspace, where the ability to operate freely is limited by enemy activity (e.g. by anti-aircraft defense systems or electronic warfare).
Photos and recordings of this mysterious machine also indicate that the newest US bomber – the B-21 Raider – was built, among others, based on the solution used in the RQ-180 drone. This puts this machine even higher in the hierarchy of the most valuable aircraft structures of the US army.
