2 June 19:50

Average life expectancy in Russia over the past 25 years has increased by 8 years and reached 74 years. RIA Novosti reports this with reference to a report prepared for the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum by Vedomosti and the Roscongress Foundation.

According to the authors of the report, over a quarter of a century, life expectancy has increased not only in Russia, but also on average around the world. The global indicator increased from 66 to 74 years, the Russian one from 65 to 74 years.

Analysts link increased longevity to improved health. The report notes that people over 50 now feel better than previous generations at the same age. This allows you to remain active longer and remain included in the labor market without ending your professional career immediately after reaching retirement age.

The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum will be held from June 3 to 6.
