In Kherson, due to constant Russian attacks, a particularly difficult security situation has developed; the city needs additional protection and increased electronic warfare (EW) capabilities. President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky spoke about this in his daily video message following a meeting with the participation of Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko and the commander of the Air Force on the situation in front-line cities and communities.
“The situation is especially difficult in Kherson: the Russians actually staged a safari for people there. We need to significantly strengthen the defense, more interceptors, more electronic warfare equipment, more of our crews are needed there, in the city,” Zelensky emphasized.
The head of state also heard a report on the situation in the temporarily occupied territory of the Kherson region, in particular in Oleshki. According to him, a difficult humanitarian situation remains there, and the evacuation of civilians is extremely difficult.
“It is important that international organizations – everyone who is able to help in this – are involved and active. We discuss the details of this process. I am grateful to everyone who is trying to help: our partners, the regional authorities of the Kherson region, the ombudsman, the government team,” said the head of state.
