On June 1, in Krasnoyarsk, near the Platinum Arena sports complex, a traffic light was installed at the pedestrian crossing, the UDIB reported.
For the main part of the day it will operate using an on-demand call button, and during the morning rush hour it will conditionally hold back traffic flows.
“This is an important step towards improving traffic management at the roundabout on Lesnikov Street. This winter, the dedicated section for public transport towards the left bank was eliminated on the Nikolaevsky Bridge. Monitoring has shown that with its abolition, congestion during peak hours has decreased. Also, a study of the situation in practice showed that traffic light regulation can help reduce congestion by about 20%,” the experts explained.
