A resident of the Kuraginsky municipal district appealed to the governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Mikhail Kotyukov, during a direct line on May 27 with a request to consider the possibility of creating a protected area in the district.
After the appeal, specialists from the Ministry of Natural Resources contacted the applicant. As a result of the discussion, it was decided to further study the issue of creating a new specially protected natural area (SPNA) of regional significance – the Shalobolinsky natural park.
“The Shalobolinsky Nature Park is planned to be created on a total area of 2.5 thousand hectares on the right bank of the Tuba River. This territory has environmental, educational and recreational value and is significant for the preservation of unique objects of natural and cultural heritage of the region,” said the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
Experts recalled that in recent years, 2 protected areas of regional significance have been created in the Kuraginsky Municipal District – the state natural micro-reserve “Zharovsky” on an area of 2.9 thousand hectares and the natural monument “Kinzelyuksky Falls” on an area of 8.7 thousand.
Now the ministry is working to create 2 more protected areas of regional significance in the Oya River basin in the Shushensky Municipal District – the protected wetland “Oyskoye Swamp” on an area of 1.9 thousand hectares and the natural monument “Oyskie Cliffs” on an area of 229 hectares.
