Rainwater subsidy 2026. How to get up to PLN 8,000? zloty?

Rising water costs and droughts make collecting rainwater more and more profitable. In the second quarter of 2026, individuals will be able to apply for funding of up to PLN 8,000. PLN for home rainwater collection and use systems. The program is intended to help fight drought and flooding, and its budget is as much as PLN 173 million from European Funds.
The Microretention program is intended to increase the amount of water retained in single-family houses. Thanks to this, residents will be able to better use rainwater, which will translate into savings and environmental protection.
Rainwater subsidy 2026. How to get up to PLN 8,000? zloty?
As explained by the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management, natural persons – owners, co-owners or perpetual usufructuaries of real estate with a residential building – will be able to apply for funding. People who own single-family houses, both year-round and seasonal, can apply for funds.

Support will cover the purchase, installation and commissioning of installations for collecting, storing and using rainwater or meltwater. The grant will cover 90 percent. eligible costs, up to PLN 8,000 zloty. The installations must be a permanent part of the water retention system on the property and cannot be used for business or agricultural purposes. The subsidy will cover investments completed after July 1, 2024.

Calls for applications will be announced by provincial environmental protection funds throughout Poland by the end of June 2026. Applications will be submitted to WFOŚiGW, and details will appear on their websites.
Specialists whose calculations are quoted by Infor.pl indicate that thanks to water retention you can save up to PLN 665 per year. Rainwater will be useful for watering the garden, doing laundry, washing the car or flushing toilets. With a roof area of 100 sq m. you can collect up to 35,000. liters of water per year.
It is worth remembering that it will not be possible to obtain funding for investments previously supported by WFOŚiGW or NFOŚiGW, e.g. from the Moja Woda program.
