Becali reveals that he spoke with Grindeanu about the future prime minister after the discussion with Nicușor Dan: “He said, yes, and these two options are on the list”

The unaffiliated MP George Becali, elected on the AUR lists in the 2024 elections, claims that he called the PSD leader, Sorin Grindeanu, after the discussion he had with the president Nicușor Dan on Thursday at the Cotroceni Palace.

In an intervention this evening on Antena 3, Becali said that the leader of the social democrats confirmed to him that the list of possible candidates for the position of prime minister also includes the honorary presidential adviser Eugen Tomac, and the interim Minister of Finance, Alexandru Nazare.

“He said that there are a few options on the list, to which I said what I, Nazare and Tomac, had also heard from you in the press. And he said, yes, these two are also on the list, but it is not yet decided. What I deduced, that what the president will designate, Grindeanu will also agree. That is my deduction”, declared George Becali, stating that he is “better friends” with Sorin Grindeanu than with Nicușor Dan.

George Becali: “The difference between Tomac and Nazare is like from heaven to earth”

Becali specified that he conveyed to Grindeanu that, in his opinion, there is a difference “like from heaven to earth the difference between Tomac and Nazare”, whom he described as a “specialist”.

“I asked Grindeanu about Tomac and Nazare, is it true? He said, Gigi, they are also on the list (…). After that, I told him, from my point of view, Nazare is a specialist. If you want to put Tomac, put Tomac, but they don't compare, as far as competence. It's like the difference between Tomac and Nazare is from heaven to earth,” George Becali also declared.

On Thursday, George Becali was received alone for talks with Nicușor Dan, because he was late to the consultations called by the president with the United for Romania parliamentary group (UPR), the PACE – First Romania parliamentary group and with the unaffiliated elected officials.

On Monday, on the first day of official consultations for the formation of the new Government, the head of state discussed with the representatives of the national minorities, PSD, PNL, USR, UDMR, AUR, POT and SOS Romania.
