At the TVR presidential debate, each of the ten candidates can ask a question to another candidate. Elena Lasconi chose not to ask any questions, but she accused Crin Antonescu and Victor Ponta that, because of them, Romania did not enter Schengen earlier.
“I want to tell everyone how much hypocrisy is in this area (no show to Crin Antonescu and Victor Ponta). Because of them I did not enter Schengen. In 24 hours, the head of the Chamber of Deputies, the Senate, the People's Advocate,”, accused Elena Lasconi.
She also discussed the 2015 collective case, when 64 people lost their lives. Then Victor Ponta was the prime minister of Romania.
“It's incredible. I want to look into your eyes, Mr. Ponta. Because of you, Mr. Ponta, I went out. Children, young people at the Collective. To be ashamed, Mr. Ponta! You would have a cock could play Richard III.
In response, Victor Ponta stated that the purpose of the debate is “to tell the Romanians what we will do for them (…) the battles between the candidates, I am not passionate.”
