American soldiers surprised by the Pentagon's decision. The trip to Poland has been suspended

According to the RMF FM interlocutor, her my husband and his friends had been preparing to leave for many months. Some of the equipment had already been transported, and the soldiers were completing training before the planned mission.
Many soldiers learned about the cancellation of the trip only from military information portals. Some of them were officially informed by their superiors only after media publications. As a result, the military contacted each other, trying to confirm the truthfulness of these reports, because they found it difficult to believe them. Some of them had already signed contracts for renting apartments for the period of their absence in the USA and had planned matters for the coming months — RMF FM reports.
As the soldier's wife emphasized, so far they have not been provided with any reasons for canceling the trip. She also added that soldiers must be ready for a possible order to fly to Poland at any time.
Contradictory messages from the Pentagon
The accounts of soldiers and their families contradict the official position of the Pentagon. Acting Pentagon spokesman Joel Valdez told RMF FM that the decision to suspend the rotation was not unexpected or made at the last minute, and presenting it in such a way would be untrue.
Last week, Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth unexpectedly suspended the rotation of an American armored brigade to Poland. Commentators indicate that this decision is part of a broader strategy of limiting the presence of US troops in Europe.
American retaliation against Europe
According to internal Pentagon documents, this decision is linked to US President Donald Trump's criticism of European allies, especially Germany. The documents emphasize that European countries “failed to rise to the occasion when America needed them,” and Germany's recent rhetoric was described as “inappropriate and unproductive.” The decision to suspend rotation is to be a form of “retaliatory” move against Europe.
The Polish Ministry of National Defense assures that the number of American soldiers in Poland will not change and will remain at approximately 10,000. The head of the Ministry of National Defense, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, emphasized that the reorganization may only mean a change in units, but not a reduction in the contingent.
