The National Security Bureau, headed by Bartosz Grodecki, wrote on Saturday on the X platform that media reports about the limited presence of US troops in Europe do not directly or ultimately concern Poland. According to BBN, the rotation of American forces is ongoing, and equipment and soldiers from the United States are moving to the country.

The National Security Bureau assessed that the changes in US troop rotation schedules are related to the reorganization of the US military presence in Europe and the planned withdrawal from Germany of the 2nd US Cavalry Regiment stationed in Vilseck.

The published position emphasized that the United States remains Poland's most important strategic partner and – next to Polish soldiers and officers – a guarantor of the security of the Republic of Poland. As indicated, the number of American soldiers and civilian employees of the US military in Poland is around 10,000.

“In the opinion of the National Security Bureau, reports about the suspension of rotation and the reduction of the US presence do not directly and ultimately concern Poland,” it was emphasized.

According to the National Security Bureau, the Ministry of National Defense did not obtain any advance information regarding changes in the schedule for the movement of American forces to Poland.

Deputy Prime Minister and head of the Ministry of National Defense, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, also commented on the media reports. He assured that no decision has been made to reduce US involvement in Poland, and Polish-American relations are based on “everyday cooperation, mutual commitment and trust.”

Reuters reported earlier, citing anonymous US officials, that the Pentagon had canceled plans to rotate around 4,000 people. soldiers to Poland. In turn, CNN reported that the decision was to be part of efforts to reduce the number of US troops in Europe.

Prime Minister Donald Tusk assessed on Friday that the changes are of a logistical nature and will not affect Poland's security.
