Another “ring” of air defense positions is being gradually built around the Russian capital, primarily of Pantsir anti-aircraft missile systems on the towers. Radio Liberty reported this on May 9.
Journalists came to this conclusion with the help of OSINT enthusiasts, studying satellite images of the Moscow region and neighboring regions. They stumbled upon the first tower of the new “ring” back on February 16, when we managed to geolocate a photo of the trace of an air defense missile near Kashira.
Now the number of air defense systems that have surrounded the capital of the aggressor country of Russia since 2023 has exceeded 100 units, as follows from the interactive map of Radio Liberty.
At the same time, shortly before May 9, the residence of the illegitimate Russian President Vladimir Putin in Valdai was blurred on Yandex.Maps. Previously, the service blurred only military installations and military-industrial complex enterprises on the satellite map.
Radio Liberty also notes that over several years, Putin’s Valdai residence, where former Russian gymnast Alina Kabaeva and his sons spend a lot of time, was surrounded by more than 25 air defense systems.
