In the Sverdlovsk region, the city administration will pay compensation to a boy who was bitten by a stray dog on a playground, Ural Meridian reports, citing the regional prosecutor’s office.

A 7-year-old boy was injured while playing in the yard. The supervisory authority noted that it was proven in court that the child did not provoke the animal and behaved calmly. Despite this, the dog rushed at him and bit him on the hand and forearm of his left arm. The student received medical care and was vaccinated against rabies. This caused the child both physical and mental suffering.

“The prosecutor’s office found that the administration of the Talitsky district, having concluded a contract for catching dogs, did not take effective measures to ensure the safety of citizens. In this regard, in the interests of the injured child, a claim for compensation for moral damage was filed,” the prosecutor’s office explained.

The Talitsky District Court upheld the claim and collected 30 thousand rubles from the administration in favor of the minor.
