Ryan Rollins (23), accused two years ago of seven petty thefts from a Target store and whose career seemed to be collapsing, is back in force with the Milwaukee Bucks. He has had impressive performances in this start of the NBA season.
The 23-year-old basketball player had a remarkable game in the last stage of the NBAA, scoring 32 points (on 5/7 three-point shooting) and 8 assists in the victory of the Milwaukee Bucks against the Golden State Warriors, score 120-110.
Ryan Rollins, the controversial US basketball player, is having a sensational start to the NBA season
The young basketball player has been part of a “resurgence” in Milwaukee for the past two years, with a peak earlier this season. In five games, Rollins averaged 18.6 points and 5 assists per game in 31 minutes of action.
However, his journey here was by no means easy. Rollins gained media attention on January 12, 2024, when he was charged with seven counts of shoplifting from an American supermarket (Target). According to reports at the time, the young defender was caught stealing household items on seven separate occasions in the space of a few weeks.
The case caused a backlash and had immediate consequences for his career. The Washington Wizards, the team he played for at the time, terminated his contract shortly before the allegations became public. His trial followed in February 2024, where he himself admitted his guilt. He was given a 30-day suspended sentence and a six-month suspended sentence while he paid restitution and a fine.
Since then, Rollins has worked hard to rebuild his reputation, and now the young basketball player is having some eye-catching performances. The next game for the Bucks is against the Sacramento Kings. The game was scheduled for November 1 at 11:00 p.m.
