VIDEO. Piedone descended into the sex shops in Bucharest: “Well, the bees make honey from this, brood?”

Nearly 20 stores that sell erotic products were checked on Wednesday in Bucharest, according to an information of the National Authority for Consumer Protection. The checks were left with dozens of sanctions and a few temporary shops of stores.

The head of ANPC, Cristian Popescu Piedone, together with several inspectors of the institution, made an operation to verify the sex shop activity in Bucharest. Piedone posted on his Facebook account pictures during checks, in which he checks more products, asks why they do not have the label in Romanian, asks what is the composition or the ingredients of the products.

“What does he write? Ingredients: Aolin, Shaolin, Made in China!” Or “Well, the bees make honey from this, sir”, and the translation you do, you pack it, or? “, These were some of Piedone's replies.

The head of ANPC also presented the balance of checks.

According to information: 19 economic operators have been checked, the following sanctions were arranged so far:

• 22 contraventional fines, worth 937,000 lei and 5 warnings, definitive stop for 52 pieces in the amount of about 10,500 lei
• Temporary stopping of 4947 pieces in total amount of about 28,000 lei.
• In addition, for three stores the activity was temporarily closed.

The main issues found by ANPC inspectors were:

• Improper information of consumers, regarding the products offered for marketing (lack of labeling in Romanian)
• Accessory type products without identification and characterization items
• Absence of instructions for use
• Absence of special precautions to use
• Absence of compliance statements attesting to the safety and security of product
• The absence of mentioning the function of products/accessories
• Absence of consumers' information on the composition of underwear type products
