War between the head of the Bucharest Forest Guard and a journalist. Mirel Idorași, complained to DNA and DIICOT by his own bosses

An unprecedented conflict broke out at the top of the Bucharest Forest Guard, where director Mirel Idorași is accused by subordinates, journalists and even by his own national leadership of extreme abusive behavior. While the Control Body is monitoring the institution to stop the “professional bullying” complained by the employees, DNA and DIICOT were officially notified. The scandal has also moved to the virtual environment, with journalist Gabriel Gachi accusing the official of threats and blackmail on WhatsApp, while Idorași rejects all accusations of integrity and promises harsh retaliation in court.

Journalist Gabriel Gachi made public a series of messages he allegedly received from Mirel Idorași, in which the latter exhibits aggressive and intimidating behavior. Instead of answering the questions related to his villa and the source of his wealth, Idorași resorted to insults (“you don't have as much head as I have in the smallest head”) and to displaying power, claiming that he has “disproportionate forces” in relation to the journalist. The discussion includes references to “CDs” with information about the journalist, visits to Brussels and connections with senators and ambassadors.
We reproduce some of the lines on WhatsApp, exchanged by Idorași with the journalist:
“Gacha: It's not a vendetta, it's in your head.
Idorasis: You don't have as much head as I do in the smallest head
Gach: You have been asked for all the explanations. The little head? More accurate?
Idorasis: Woe to your intelligence
Gach: Where did you get the villa from? Who built it? Who gave the money?
Idorasis: You left on the server… at someone's behest… on some abstract interests and… and you don't know that I know all your combinations
Gach: Run away from the questions that really concern you
Idorasis: I'm waiting for you in the office to show you some CDs. With you and company. Sir… you have no idea who I am. Okay, I'm going to drink some good wine with an ambassador and a senator from the diaspora. Tomorrow we leave for Brussels. You will give it to me with a pointy and plump. To get my seventh machine… egg clipper… yours. You can't count mine. You don't know how to count in other currencies
Gach: Be careful what you do with that villa
Idorasis: By the way, which of them… because I still have about three…
You really don't think we are disproportionate forces
Gach: Explain to him. You lack a sense of reality
Idorasis: That's what Zelenski said, and now he's just as destroyed
Gach: Are you a fan of Putin and Russia?
Idorasis: When you go to war see who you are fighting and what guns you have
Gach: Do you realize that all this talk exposes you to public approval? It's not a war! That's in your head.
Idorasis: Sir… an entire country has known me for about 25 years. You are too small and unimportant for me. But you don't know me. And in Bucharest… the world in Iași is seen differently. Like from the moon”
The journalist Gabriel Gachi, the one who reported in Reporter de Iași the scandal created in the institution by the head of the Bucharest Forest Guard, accused by subordinates of “professional bullying”, explained to “Adevărul” how the conflict with Mirel Idorași started, who ended up sending him numerous messages on WhatsApp in which he cursed and threatened him.
DNA searches at the Suceava Forest Guard. Several civil servants are targeted
“Idorași is recorded by his subordinates as he threatens and insults them, telling them that he is firing them, that they are all thieves, only he is honest. He uses aggressive language towards anyone he doesn't like, without any evidence that the person in question has done anything wrong.
In addition, the villa in Snagov is in the name of his parents, the car he drives, Toyota Camry, is registered in the name of some friends. I also spoke with the head of the National Forest Guard, Florin George Gârbacea. He said that he established a commission to investigate the abuses of Mirel Idorași”, the journalist declared for “Adevărul”.
Contacted by “Adevărul”, Mirel Idorași, head of the Bucharest Forest Guard, said that the dispute will be settled in court, stating that he has already filed several criminal complaints in this regard.
“The lawyers have asked me not to give any more statements to the press, but I can tell you that I have filed several criminal complaints, for the serious deficiencies that this newspaper has created for me in the last two years. I assure you that I will go to court with this newspaper and with the one that recorded me without consent.
I have no integrity issues whatsoever. The real reason for this mess, because I have no other way to call it, is the termination of the employment contract of Vătui Florin, who is from Iasi, due to serious integrity problems“, declared Idorași.
The National Guard started checks
For his part, the head of the National Forestry Guard, George Gârbacea, stated that he notified DNA and DIICOT.
“We received several notifications from the employees of the Bucharest Forest Guard who complained about the abusive behavior of their boss, including intimidation and threats, computers taken by the head of the institution from the employees.
We sent the Control Body, which drew up two reports, because we also had notifications from Romsilva and Sector 4, in which we were told that the director had abusive behavior. DNA and DIICOT have already been notified“, declared George Gârbacea, specifying that, from a procedural point of view, he will be investigated and disciplined.
Government decision: almost 200 new positions at the Forest Guard, in the midst of the cutting scandal. The reason invoked by the state
Moreover, informed sources told “Adevărul” that members of the Control Corps have been monitoring Mirel Idorași's activity for two weeks, “because there are daily conflicts“. “He has a certain technique of manipulating employees, by instilling fear in the workplace, a real professional bullying”, show the sources mentioned.
An investigation published by Reporter de Iași shows that there are discrepancies between the wealth declarations and the reality of the assets owned by Mirel Idorași, the existence of a villa in a residential area near Bucharest being also mentioned, not fully clarified in the documents.
