From April 28 to 29, a career guidance festival of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) was held in Krasnoyarsk at the Center for Advanced Professional Training. Over the course of two days, various interactive platforms were open for guests. Participants of the event could not only get acquainted with the directions of development of the industry, but also try themselves in piloting, designing and programming drones.

The most spectacular part of the festival was the robotics competition. Judges tested the cars assembled by schoolchildren and students for endurance and maneuverability right at the Center. To do this, the guys first took the robots into an impromptu ring, and later demonstrated to the experts their skills in the field and the speed that smart mechanisms are capable of developing over long distances.

The fastest robot was assembled by the guys from the Neurons team. Aspiring engineers and programmers made a real splash at the festival; the guys managed not only to earn recognition from the expert community – gurus in the world of robotics, but also the respect of their rivals.

“This is our second Walking Robots competition. Building a really fast robot is not an easy task, so not everyone will succeed the first time. At first the coach helped us, and then we got involved in this matter ourselves. We are happy with the result, but we will continue to work. There is always room to grow,” said Neurons team member Svyatoslav Muroev.

In parallel with the competitive part of the festival, there was an educational zone. Here, schoolchildren and students could communicate with representatives of leading educational institutions of the Krasnoyarsk Territory and get acquainted with the latest technical developments in the field of UAS.

“The festival is taking place within the framework of the national project “Unmanned Aircraft Systems” and the federal project “Personnel for UAS”. It’s important for us to show the kids different possibilities: they can do assembly, programming, piloting. Our task is to immerse them in this area in an easy, exciting format and make them understand how they can develop further,” said Anna Boyarkina, head of the Center for Advanced Professional Training

A separate track of the festival included competitions on the AEROSIM simulators, where participants practiced their piloting skills in a virtual environment. This format allows you to safely master the basic principles of management and gradually move on to more complex tasks – precisely through practice and immersion in the profession.

The development of unmanned aircraft in the region is part of a lot of work that is being carried out, including within the framework of the national project “Unmanned Aircraft Systems”. The main goal of the project is to ensure the technological independence of Russia and create new UAS markets.
