In Minusinsk, a 58-year-old resident of Shushenskoye will be tried for attempted murder committed in September 1997. The regional prosecutor's office reported this.
Almost three decades ago, in one of the entrances of an apartment building in Minusinsk, a 24-year-old local resident was subjected to an armed attack. An unknown person ambushed a young man at the entrance and opened fire from a Shpagina submachine gun. The fatal outcome was then prevented by the jammed weapon and the quick reaction of the victim. The guy was able to get to the apartment and wait for help, despite being wounded.
The bullets grazed my hand. The victim went through a long recovery process and miraculously managed to avoid amputation. Since the young man did not see the attacker in the darkness of the entrance, the search for the attacker dragged on. Law enforcement officers managed to get on the trail of the criminal only years later and thanks to the coordinating role of the prosecutor's office.
“The events took place against the background of criminal showdowns of those years. The victim was engaged in business, and a conflict arose with another businessman who kept the accused as a driver – or, as was customary then, as a bodyguard,” the department found out.
The shooter later revealed that he decided to act on his own initiative: to save his patron and himself from the brewing problems, without telling anyone about his plans. During the investigation, he had already received new sentences, including for murder.
The case has now been sent to court. The charge approved by the prosecutor is qualified as attempted murder (Part 3 of Article 30, Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
