Krasnoyarsk police have completed a criminal investigation into the leader and six members of an organized group accused of fraud in receiving government payments as part of the Demography national project.

It was established that a 45-year-old Krasnoyarsk woman, who was the head of a consumer credit cooperative, developed and implemented a criminal scheme in which she involved six subordinates, distributing roles for each.

“From April 2020 to March 2022, the defendants looked for residents of Krasnoyarsk who were in difficult financial situations and who owned certificates for receiving maternity capital. Fictitious transactions were concluded with them for the acquisition of land plots for real estate construction in the Emelyanovsky and Berezovsky districts of the region, while the actual cost of the plots was significantly less than the size of the capital. Then, false information was provided to the Pension Fund branch to receive funds. In total, the defendants cashed 120 certificates, and the total amount of damage caused amounted to more than 50 million rubles,” said the Krasnoyarskoye Municipal Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

The illegal activities of the criminals were identified and stopped by employees of the economic security and anti-corruption department of the city police. Searches were carried out at the place of residence of the accused and at the KPK office, during which accounting documents, office equipment and storage media were seized.
