Today, the overall construction readiness of the Surikov Center is 44%, the Krasnoyarsk mayor’s office reported.
The day before, they began installing a spiral staircase in the building, which will not only connect the basement and first floor, but will also become one of the “highlights” of the future cultural space. Using a glass fragment of the floor and roof, a so-called “light lantern” will be created on the second floor. And a light installation of birch trees will “grow” to the entire height of two floors. This is a reference to the three trees that Vasily Surikov planted, and now they grow on the territory of the artist’s museum-estate.
In addition, the contractor began installation of insulation, plastering and installation of the facade subsystem. At the same time, the roofing is being installed. Storm sewer and water supply are 60% ready. Electrical and plumbing work is being carried out inside the building, utility networks are being laid, brickwork partitions,Elevator and windows installed. Stained glass work will begin soon.
Let us remind you that the object is being built for the 400th anniversary of Krasnoyarsk behind the Surikov museum-estate, next to the house on Markovsky Street, 73. The area of the two-story building with a basement is 2.3 thousand square meters. m. Inside there will be an exhibition hall, a lecture hall, a library, a media room, an art workshop, a museum cafe with access to the terrace, a storage facility and office space.
“It is planned that the Surikov Center will open at the beginning of 2028. In order to deliver the facility strictly on schedule, the contractor will begin landscaping this summer, and will carry out finishing work during the cold season. You could say they are almost like jewelry. The architects provided many interesting details in this regard,” said Alexander Navrodsky, head of the urban planning department.
