Krasnoyarsk car owners are invited to return their used tires for recycling

28 April 15:32

In Krasnoyarsk, motorists will be able to return used tires free of charge for their subsequent recycling as part of the environmental project “Green is the New Black” and the “Hunt for Wheels” project.

Tires collected at gas stations of the Gazpromneft network will be sent for processing to the licensed plant Vtorshina LLC, and the resulting granulate – crumb rubber – will be used to make safe coatings, including for sports grounds.

Seasonal tire collection event will take place in two districts of the city May 11, Monday from 10:00 to 15:00. During this period, private clients can donate tires (no more than 4 pieces) to volunteers at the following gas stations in Krasnoyarsk:

  • st. Michurina, 30g
  • st. Gaidashovka, 8g

The “Green is the New Black” project was launched in 2019 at gas stations in St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk and the Moscow region. It aims to reduce waste by encouraging car owners to dispose of old tires responsibly. In just seven years of its existence, the chain’s clients have recycled more than 6.5 thousand tons of car tires, which corresponds to about 400,000 square meters of coverings for playgrounds and sports fields. This volume is enough to cover more than 100 school stadiums with crumb rubber.
