King Charles III's visit to the USA despite the shooting. Donald Trump calms down

Despite the dramatic events in Washington, the British royal family did not decide to cancel the trip. In an interview for the “60 Minutes” program on CBS News, Donald Trump addressed the issue of the monarch's safety.
“It will be very safe”
Donald Trump, commenting on King Charles' visit, emphasized that there is no reason to worry. — I think it's great. It will be very safe. The White House grounds are really safe – said the politician in an interview with CBS. Trump also added that the services did not provide him with any information about additional threats against him or other officials.
In turn, acting Attorney General Todd Blanche announced that, according to investigators' findings, the president and administration officials were the direct targets of the shooting.
Buckingham Palace reacts
The official confirmation of the visit came after intensive diplomatic consultations on both sides of the Atlantic. The palace issued a statement on Sunday, which reads: Their Majesties' state visit will take place as plannedin accordance with government recommendations.
A Buckingham Palace spokesman said King Charles III was being kept updated on the situation and expressed great relief to hear that the president, first lady and all dinner guests were safe.
Although the main plan of the visit remains unchanged, the services will introduce some changes. They will perform minor operational changes in one or two events involving the royal couple. The UK and US security teams have been in close contact for many weeks and decisions on any further adjustments will be made on an ongoing basis.
