The interim president of PNL Bistriţa-Năsăud, deputy Robert Sighiartău, said on Sunday evening that the partial results of the presidential elections prove that the current government coalition “has no strong support in the territory”.

“For me at least, especially walking among people, I am not necessarily a surprise (partial results – no). It was very clear that there is a pretty big desire, that this coalition, consisting of the three parties, has no strong support in the territory and then all these things are seen including to vote. (…) PNL-PSD-UDMR, if we do not enter the second round, we will have a problem to go on this road for reasons, in the end, to recognize everything that means the Liberal electorate, which seems to not greatly want this alliance, ”said Sighiartău, on Sunday evening, according to Agerpres.

In the opinion of the Liberal MP, Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu, the PSD leader, represented a “brake” for the candidate of the electoral alliance “Romania before”, Crin Antonescu.

“I believe in the first place, and I also said in December, that Marcel Ciolacu's re-election as the prime minister brought damage to the presidential candidate, because there was an extremely negative current in the company regarding Klaus Iohannis, who was withdrawn, regarding Marcel Ciolacu and some of the exponents, and what happens to Merce. Ciolacu is a brake for the Coalition candidate, Crin Antonescu.

Robert Sighiartău also gave that the government can only be done with the three parties in one place, but an executive formula is needed to assume the great reforms at central and administrative level.
