The fire broke out on Sunday (May 4) at approx. 17.37. Then information about a fire in the former cotton plants at ul. Old Ukrainian reached firefighters. A total of 14 fire brigades were sent to the action from several units in Łódź.
“There is a storage shelter, two trucks with semi -trailers and a palette landfill. The fire situation is not mastered at the moment,” he informed PAP on Sunday before 19 Jędrzej Pawlak, spokesman for the Provincial Commander of the State Fire Service in Łódź.
Pawlak confirmed that there were several explosions due to a fire in the magazine. These were the sounds of the explosions of five LPG cylinders with a defect of 11 kg each. There were a total of 9 such cylinders in the building.
In warehouses in the former “Alba” cotton plants, a rescue operation is still underway. (PAP)
