The acceptance of applications for the VI International Children and Youth Prize “Ecology is Everyone’s Business,” established by Rosprirodnadzor, has ended.
This year, the Melnichenko Foundation has joined the award’s partners, which will allocate 10 million rubles for grant support for the best environmental initiatives in the regions where SUEK, SGK and EuroChem enterprises operate.
Residents of the Krasnoyarsk Territory presented their works in the VI season of the award in the categories “Ecoproject”, “Ecofamily”, “Ecomir”, “Ecomultfilm”, etc. Among them are bright and sincere examples of caring for the environment.
Diana Marelovtseva from Nazarovo prepared a video in which she and her family remove garbage from the forest, restoring the purity of nature. Anna Lobanova from Krasnoyarsk told how she helps birds in winter: she makes feeders, regularly checks them, adds food and involves others in this. And the pupils of kindergarten No. 50 from Kansk drew attention to the problem of homeless animals through animation, creating a touching video.
The best of the works will receive diplomas and valuable prizes, including a trip to the All-Russian Children's Center “Ocean”, as well as support for the development of environmental initiatives from the Melnichenko Foundation.
“The Foundation’s priorities include not only supporting environmental projects, but also developing a culture of concern for the environment among the younger generation. Initiatives such as the “Ecology is Everyone’s Business” award give children and teenagers the opportunity to feel involved in solving important problems and to see that their ideas can be in demand and implemented,” noted Tatyana Zhuravleva, CEO of the Melnichenko Foundation. “By supporting projects from our cities, we strive to create an environment where environmental responsibility becomes a natural part of everyday life.”
It is worth noting that for many children, youth and adults in industrial cities, taking care of the environment is not just words. Every year, teenagers of Profkomand.FM, together with their senior comrades from SUEK, SGK and EuroChem enterprises, take part in such events as #WaterofRussia, #BoomBattle, #BrighterTogether, conduct educational work among the population of cities through quizzes, sports competitions and other events, explaining how to protect nature and why everyone’s environmental responsibility is important.
