Romanian striker Florin Andone (32), now at Atletico Baleares, in the fourth Spanish league, destroyed the legendary Clarence Seedorf (49), whom he says is “a disaster as a coach”, recalling the time he played under his command at Deportivo La Coruna.

Huge as a footballer, champion in Holland with Ajax, in Spain with Real Madrid and in Italy with AC Milan, respectively FIVE times winner of the Champions League with 3 different teams, Clarence Seedorf also tried his luck in coaching.

One of the few terms of his coaching years was in Spain, at Deportivo La Coruna, who hired him in February 2018 to save them from relegation.

Seedorf took over Deportivo, where the Romanian Florin Andone was playing at the time, in 18th place, 3 points from the safe zone. Under the command of the legendary Dutchman, the results in the remaining 16 stages were two wins, six draws and eight defeats, so the Galicians ended the season 14 points below the line.

Remembering what it was like to play under Seedorf, the Romanian Florin Andone, former international with 25 matches and two goals under the “tricolor”, attacked the iconic former player from Ajax, Madrid and Milan without hesitation.

Florin Andone, harsh attack on the great Clarence Seedorf: “Disaster as a coach!”

“As a player, Seedorf was world class. As a coach, a disaster, disaster! He took over the team at one, two or three relegation points and took it to 16. A disaster!

He relegated the team with Lucas Perez, who was coming from Arsenal, Adrian Lopez from Atletico Madrid, Colak and me, who was at the peak of my career… We had a European Cup team and we were relegated to the second division. A season disaster!

The disaster started from above, from the mess they made, the destruction they caused, and with Seedorf they put a lid on it.

They brought in a coach from Italy who didn't know any of the players on the team. We trained at 14:00-15:00 every day, they kept 3-4 of us locked up at the hotel,” Andone recalled in the “Balears en Joc” podcast, quoted by Mundo Deportivo.

Andone believes that Deportivo would have saved themselves with another coach at the helm: “I'm sure that if we had a capable coach, Cristobal Parralo or Pepe Mel, the team would have 100% saved itself. But the other one came and dismantled everything.”

WOW! The Romanian international calls out the great Seedorf:

In the 2017/2018 season, Andone scored 6 goals in 29 La Liga appearances. All his goals came BEFORE the Dutchman was installedand towards the end of the season he lost his starting role.

That summer, following Depor's relegation, Andone was bought by Brighton for €6 million. He also played for Galatasaray, Cadiz, Las Palmas and Eldense, but nowhere could he repeat the performance of his career peak from 2015-2017, when he scored 33 goals in 75 games for Cordoba (in the second division) and Deportivo (in the top flight).
