Magdalena Biejat, who is an opponent of lowering the health contribution for entrepreneurs, met on Monday with Andrzej Duda. The meeting was accompanied by experts, representatives of medical environments and patients.

At the press briefing after the meeting, Biejat announced that she had convinced the president to her arguments. “Today President Duda with most of them, probably with everyone, agreed. He told us that in his opinion this act in this shape is unacceptable” – said the presidential candidate.

Before the president's time comes, the Senate has a voice

The Sejm adopted the amendment to the Act on lowering the health premium for entrepreneurs on April 4; Now the Senate will take care of the amendment. Biejat declared that as the deputy marshal of the Senate he would persuade her to reject it. “That they would not be caused by the logic of the election campaign in such a crucial matter for our citizens,” she said.

She emphasized that people who earn around the national average will gain 100, maybe PLN 200. “The most will be those who really do not need presents. People who earn 30, 40 thousand per month. Bosses of banks, taken lawyers who can really afford to contribute to the health care system jointly and severally,” said Biejat.

Biejat: The changes will lead to escapes from full -time jobs

In her opinion, the solution proposed by the Sejm “will encourage more employees to go to self -employment.” “Those who earn PLN 8,000 a month will pay a higher premium than those who are on a sole proprietorship,” she noted. In her opinion, the Minister of Finance Andrzej Domański “does not tell the truth when he says that he knows how much this change will cost.” “Because he does not know. Because we do not know how many people in the coming years will decide to go to a sole proprietorship from a full -time job in order to save these several hundred zlotys” – she emphasized.

“And finally this hole we will be overwhelmed again from the state budget. We do not know yet at what cost, but we will definitely have to throw each other on it. And above all those who work full -time. First of all, those who will solve these contributions jointly and severally” – added Biejat.

If the amendment to the health premium Act enters into force, then revenues to the National Health Fund will be about PLN 4.6 billion next year. Covering this defect from the state budget is promised by the Minister of Finance Andrzej Domański. At the next meeting (April 23-24), the Senate is to take care of the Act. Opponents of changes, incl. Left -wing politicians and medical self -government appeal to President Andrzej Duda to veto the law when he goes to his desk to the signature. (PAP)
