The 2026 National Assessment simulation with problems
This year, the simulation of the National Assessment was not organized in all schools, after the unions recommended that teachers not participate in the tests, in protest against the austerity measures adopted by the Government.
The simulation was organized in over 4,500 educational units in the country, i.e. in 97.8% of secondary schools. Testing was not held in 104 schools.
According to the cited source, over 145,200 students were present at Monday's test. At the same time, more than 11,800 students were absent from the educational units that organized the simulation, and one student was expelled for attempted fraud.
“The number of 8th grade students from the 104 units that did not organize the simulation is over 5,200”, said the same source.
A number of 38 educational units in the Capital, out of 221, did not organize the simulation of the National Assessment, the general inspector of the School Inspectorate of the Municipality of Bucharest, Florian Lixandru, told AGERPRES.
“Out of 221 schools and high schools with gymnasiums, 38 did not organize the simulation today,” said the inspector.
Sorin Ion, secretary of state in the Ministry of Education and Research, recently stated that for eighth-grade children from educational units where the simulation of the National Assessment is not organized, there is the possibility to later take the exams at school level.
The Secretary of State mentioned that simulations of the National Assessment were organized in many counties this school year.
“There have already been simulations for approximately 80,000 children. There are counties where no local simulations have been organized and they do not participate in this simulation either. For those children, there is the solution of organizing simulations at the school level,” Sorin Ion said.

On March 16, there was the written test for Romanian Language and Literature, on March 17 – for Mathematics, and on March 18 – the test for Mother Language and Literature, for students studying in the languages of national minorities.
