Work on creating a new city on the border of the Krasnoyarsk Territory and the Republic of Khakassia may begin in 2026. Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Federal Structure, Regional Policy, Local Self-Government and Northern Affairs Alexander Uss reported this to TASS.

Let us recall that the idea of ​​building a new city in Siberia was previously repeatedly expressed by the former Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, and now the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, Sergei Shoigu.

In November, at a meeting dedicated to the development of a critical metals processing cluster in Siberia, he proposed building a satellite city near Khakassia Sayanogorsk, which would become the pride of Russian architects.

“It is possible that the corresponding city or urban settlement will be created in the Minusinsk region, where the so-called “electric complex” was once planned. A delegation led by Sergei Kuzhugetovich visited the city of Minusinsk and Khakassia in order to identify sites for the development of this project. It is expected that this work will begin next year. This is a fairly high pace. Now a project office is being created, so the idea that a new city will appear with a different population and different tasks is taking on real shape,” said Alexander Uss.

The senator also added that young people will work in the new city.

Earlier, co-chairman of the regional branch of Business Russia in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, general director of the consulting company Siberian Financial System, Valentin Bogomolov, reported that the time frame for implementing such a project could be 15 years or more.
