PiS vice-president Przemysław Czarnek accused the government of making not only fuel but also food very expensive due to its lack of action. The price is incredible; we don't want Polexit, we want Tuskexit – said the politician on Friday in Wysokie Mazowiecki (Podlaskie).

Czarnek's meeting with Law and Justice supporters took place in the municipal school complex in Wysokie Mazowieckie; MPs and local government officials from this group also took part in it.

Czarnek, PiS candidate for prime minister, devoted his speech to the prices of not only fuel, but also food. He brought a basket to the meeting with basic products. The basket read “Tusk = bankruptcy”. He also had a jerry can symbolizing high fuel prices.

– The prices in stores are unbelievable. We are preparing for the holidays, we want to do some holiday shopping and we wonder if we can afford it all, said Czarnek. He mentioned the prices of eggs, bread and cold meats. – And everything costs a lot and will cost even more. Why? Because this country is run by a bunch of losers, people who don't care about the interests of an ordinary Pole, an ordinary citizen – said Czarnek.

Referring to fuel and electricity prices, he added that they affect food prices. As he noted, if the project to reduce VAT and excise duty on fuels, submitted by PiS less than three weeks ago, had been followed up, prices would now be lower and farmers would save money by paying for fuel for agricultural machinery. – The state is plundering farmers – he said.

Czarnek listed the decisions made during the United Right government, including: about a zero VAT rate on food, and among his successes he mentioned the increase in revenues to the state budget. – A state that does not act, a state that does not respond to crises, a state that does not provide help to farmers and all those who need it, is a state that leads to sky-high prices – emphasized the PiS politician.

– We have to chase Tusk away. We don't want any Polexit, we want Tuskexit. Mr Tusk, leave this government – said Przemysław Czarnek.

Questions from the floor that he later answered included: Mercosur trade agreement, financing of health care, education, energy and support programs addressed to local governments. (PAP)
