Demand for tablets has increased sharply in Russia

Russians have become interested in tablets: sales of these devices in the first quarter of 2026 increased by 72% compared to the same period last year.
At the same time, colored cases have recently become more popular than classic ones, and the Samsung brand has replaced Xiaomi in the leadership position. MegaFon specialists came to these conclusions based on sales data in the combined retail network of MegaFon and Yota.
The demand for tablets in Russia began to grow: already from the third quarter of 2025, their sales in units exceeded the January-March figures by 39%, and in the first quarter of this year the increase is already 72% compared to the same period in 2025.
In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the sales leader at the beginning of last year was the Fontel brand, and this year Topdevice took first place. In general, the top 3 brands in January-March 2026 included tablets from Topdevice, Samsung and Xiaomi. The most popular colors among Krasnoyarsk residents in the current quarter, besides traditional gray, are blue and black. At the same time, the top 3 most unpopular colors included pink, green and purple.
They often buy tablets right away: in 95% of cases, devices are paid for in full at the time of purchase, only 5% are paid on credit or in installments. The most popular memory capacity is 64 GB, the leading price category is tablets costing up to 20 thousand rubles. Devices with Wi-Fi support are more actively purchased: they account for approximately 65% of sales, while gadgets with SIM cards account for about 35%.
“Tablet manufacturers today are betting on improving their models – they are becoming more powerful and functional. We see stable demand for this category in the market,” said Vadim Zimin, director of MegaFon’s department for strategy and sales development.
