In Krasnoyarsk schools, instead of bells, opera arias are played in honor of World Theater Day, which is celebrated on March 27.

The press service of the mayor's office said that Krasnoyarsk schoolchildren listen to fexcerpts from famous operas performed by artists of the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theater named after D.A. Hvorostovsky.

Students are invited to lessons and recess to tunes that are familiar to many. Alexander Mikhalev performs Figaro's cavatina from Gioachino Rossini's opera The Barber of Seville, and David Yesayan sings a drinking song from Giuseppe Verdi's opera La Traviata. The famous “Habanera” from Georges Bizet’s opera “Carmen” is performed by Daria Ryabinko, and the Duke’s song from Giuseppe Verdi’s opera “Rigoletto” is performed by Valentin Kolesnikov. Ballerinas Olesya Aldonina and Ksenia Krentovskaya also convey congratulations on World Theater Day.

“This good tradition, when opera arias replace school bells, was born in 2024. Then the voices of Krasnoyarsk tenors and baritones were heard for the first time within the school walls, marking the beginning of fruitful cooperation,” explained the city administration.
