Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced that on Thursday at An extraordinary meeting of the Council of Ministers will be held on 18, during which the government will make decisions on reducing fuel prices. – We have prepared a reduction in the VAT rate on fuels from 23%. at 8 percent and reducing the excise tax on fuels to the minimum required by EU regulations, i.e. the excise tax on petrol by 29 groszy and on diesel oil by 28 groszy – said the head of government.

During Thursday's press conference in the Sejm, Czarnek said that the solutions proposed by the government were included in the bill of the PiS parliamentary club already at the beginning of March.

– I am pleased to say that Prime Minister Donald Tusk is finishing rewriting our bill, which we submitted on March 9. It took him almost three weeks to rewrite this project. The Benedictines copied the Bible faster than he did this bill on reducing VAT and excise duty on fuel – Czarnek ironized.

– To this day, Tusk has robbed Poles of PLN 2 billion by rewriting this short act in almost three weeks – said the PiS vice-president.

When asked whether the solutions proposed by the government would be supported by President Karol Nawrocki, he replied: I am convinced that the president will meet the expectations of Poles. I just repeat, if this had been done two weeks ago, Poles would already be driving for much cheaper fuel, over one zloty, PLN 1.15, PLN 1.30 per liter.

Czarnek suggested that he could also provide the Prime Minister with “a copy of the resolution on the ECJ so that he would not rewrite it for the next few weeks.” As he pointed out, passing the law “suddenly, quickly” is an attempt to cover up some scandal. In this context, he spoke about a budget hole “unseen in Poland since time immemorial”. (PAP)
