The head of the Ukrainian state emphasized that today Russia has been attacking Ukraine with Shahed drones for virtually every day since night. The Russian Federation launched new waves of drones all day. In general, to attack Ukraine, the Russian army used more than 550 drones of various types per day, a significant number of which were Shahed.
“The geography of this strike is very wide. And although most of the drones were shot down – exactly more than 500 shot downs – still, unfortunately, there were hits – in Lvov, Frankovsk, Ternopil, Vinnitsa, Zhitomir, also in the Khmelnytsky region, Rivne, in the Kharkov region, in Dnepropetrovsk. Unfortunately, there are deaths,” Zelensky said.
According to him, as of now, more than 40 victims are known, and among them are five children.
The targets of the attacks were energy infrastructure facilities, but hits were also recorded at residential buildings.
“The centers of our cities, the historical center of Lvov, were attacked. There was a fire in the buildings of the Church of St. Andrew in Lvov. The history of this church goes back to the beginning of the 17th century. Iranian Shahed, modernized by Russia, are hitting the church in Lvov – this is an absolute perversion, and only such as [нелегитимный президент РФ Владимир] Putin may like it,” Zelensky emphasized.
He also noted that in addition to the war in Ukraine, Russia is helping the Iranian regime to strike in the Middle East.
According to the president, the conclusion is obvious: without additional and strong pressure, Moscow will not have the desire to move away from the war and get used to peace again.
“The world must be reliable – this is our goal, and this will be. And we will respond to attacks,” he added.
