In South Korea, 17 people were killed due to strong rain and landslides, more than 10 are considered missing


Another 11 people are considered missing. Most of the victims came to the south county of Sanchon. According to representatives of the fire department, rescue work there continues, so the data on the number of victims may change.

The media reported that the shower began on July 16. In four days, 793.5 mm rainfall fell in Sangkhone, in the neighboring county Khapchon – 699 mm, and in Hadon – 621.5 mm.

In Kapen, 197.5 mm rainfall fell on Sunday only.

The authorities registered almost 2 thousand cases of flooding of roads, landslides and destruction of public objects.
