PayPo's research shows that Poles plan moderate expenses for Easter and rarely decide on higher budgets. The largest group of respondents (31%) intends to spend between PLN 251 and PLN 500 on Christmas shopping.
21 percent respondents plan to spend from PLN 10 to PLN 250, and 17 percent declares a budget of PLN 501–750. However, 16 percent admits that at this stage he is not yet able to determine his expenses. Higher amounts appear significantly less frequently. 10 percent respondents plan to spend from PLN 751 to PLN 1,000, 3 percent from PLN 1,001 to PLN 1,500, and 2 percent declares expenses exceeding PLN 1,500. Therefore, higher budgets remain the domain of a small proportion of respondents.

Prices are rising, budget is the same
Despite rising prices, most Poles do not plan to increase their spending for Easter. 60 percent respondents declare that their budget will remain at a level similar to last year. 18% expect larger expenses. respondents, while 22 percent no opinion has been formed yet. Among people who plan to spend more, one reason clearly dominates – as many as 76 percent. indicates rising product prices.
Other reasons are much less important – 28%. respondents prepare holidays for a larger number of people, 26 percent indicates an improvement in the financial situation, and 20 percent the need to expand the shopping list, and 2 percent respondents give other reasons.

The structure of expenses clearly shows that Easter in Poland remains a holiday strongly associated with tradition and a shared meal. As much as 75 percent respondents declare that they will spend the largest part of their expenses on grocery shopping. This is by far the highest result among all categories. Other expenses are less important – 9%. respondents indicate a gift, and 5 percent declares that the largest part of the budget will be spent on trips and travel. In the case of 2 percent respondents, the dominant cost category is Christmas decorations.

PayPo research shows that giving gifts is not an important element of Easter. 59 percent respondents declare that they do not plan to buy gifts on this occasion. Less than every fourth Pole (24%) intends to do this, and 17% remains undecided. Among people planning to buy gifts, gifts for children clearly dominate, indicated by 67%. respondents – this is a clear signal of concentration on the youngest holiday participants. Other groups receive gifts much less often – 32%. respondents declare purchasing gifts for their wife/husband/partner, 30 percent for parents and grandparents, and 26 percent for the whole family. However, 10 percent indicates friends, and 6 percent other people.

What do Poles buy for Easter?
The nature of Easter gifts remains rather symbolic and tailored to the occasion. The most popular choices are sweets and chocolates (63%). Toys and games are also very popular, chosen by 48%. respondents. This is followed by Christmas decorations (29%), cosmetics (27%), clothes (23%) and home accessories (21%). Books (17%) and flowers (12%) are chosen less often. Additionally 7 percent respondents indicate other gift suggestions, and 9 percent has not yet made a decision on this topic.
Budgets for gifts remain moderate. Most people plan to spend between PLN 101 and 200 (34%) or between PLN 201 and 500 (31%). Smaller amounts in the range of PLN 51-100 are declared by 16 percent. respondents, and 4 percent people will spend PLN 10-50 for this purpose. 11% of people plan to spend more than PLN 500. respondents, and 5 percent Can't set a budget for gifts yet.

How much does Easter away from home cost?
Christmas trips are becoming more and more like a classic city break. The average length of stay today is 3-4 nights, which means that many tourists leave on Friday and return only after the holidays. At the same time, the average booking value increased to PLN 2,407 (or 11%), with the average accommodation price at PLN 707 (an increase of 23%), according to data from the Triverna.pl booking portal.
“Easter is increasingly treated as one of the long weekends we have during the year. Poles want to relax, break away from everyday life and spend this time without having to organize holidays,” says Krzysztof Dębski, Chief Marketing Officer at Triverna.pl.
The real cost of an Easter trip for a family with two children is clearly higher than the average value of a single booking suggests. With an average accommodation price of PLN 707 and a stay lasting approximately 3-4 nights, the cost of a hotel for a 2+2 family usually ranges from approximately PLN 3.5 to PLN 5,000.
