Explosion at a Jewish school in Amsterdam. “A targeted attack”

The blast, which occurred early Saturday morning, damaged a Jewish school in Amsterdam, in what the city's mayor described as “a deliberate attack against the Jewish community,” Reuters reports.
The school, located in an upscale residential neighborhood in the southern part of Amsterdam, suffered only limited damage, Mayor Femke Halsema said in a press release.
“It is a cowardly act of aggression against the Jewish community. The Jews of Amsterdam are facing anti-Semitism more and more often. This is unacceptable,” said Halsema.
The police and firefighters managed to quickly intervene on the scene. No casualties were reported.
Concerns about possible attacks on Jewish communities around the world have increased following US and Israeli attacks on Iran and retaliation by Tehran.
Security at synagogues and Jewish institutions in the Dutch capital had already been increased after an attack that set fire to a synagogue in the center of Rotterdam on Friday night.
In neighboring Belgium, an explosion caused a fire at a synagogue in Liège on Monday.
