VIDEO The cheapest streaming platform bets on the queen of the thriller: the “Scarpetta” phenomenon, on screens 25 years after the debut of the novels

The new series launched by Amazon Prime Video is the adaptation of a series of successful novels that began 25 years ago. In the main roles are two legendary actresses of Hollywood: Nicole Kidman and Jamie Lee Curtis, writes Parade.
The actresses, both Oscar winners, will play two sisters, the main protagonists of the “Scarpetta” series, which is based on a series of bestselling novels by Patricia Cornwell, which have sold millions of copies since the series began in 1990.
The main character of the novels is a forensic doctor who investigates several murders committed by the same serial killer.
The script is written by Liz Sarnoff, known for “Barry” and “Lost”.
Nicole Kidman (58) stars as Kay Scarpetta, a medical examiner who is determined to speak up for the victims of the serial killer she's trying to identify and prove that a case from 28 years ago won't ruin her career.
Amazon Prime Video already released a trailer for the series on February 11th, with the world premiere set to take place on March 11th.
The series is produced by Blumhouse Television in association with Amazon MGM Studios.
Moviegoers have already started expressing their first impressions in the comments section of the trailer uploaded to YouTube, with many showing their delight.
“Nicole Kidman and Jamie Lee Curtis as the Scarpetta sisters are the cast I didn't know I needed until now. Just the tension in the kitchen scene? Absolute cinematography,” wrote one user.
Curtis plays Scarpetta's sister, Dorothy Farinelli.
The cast is rounded out by Emmy Award winner Bobby Cannavale as cop Pete Marino and Emmy nominee Simon Baker (“The Mentalist”) as FBI profiler Benton Wesley. Ariana DeBose (“West Side Story”) stars as Kay's niece, Lucy Farinelli Watson.
Amazon Prime Video is the platform with the lowest subscription prices compared to its competitors. Amazon's streaming platform has the most affordable monthly subscription for customers in Romania, 19.99 lei.
