The United States is sending additional troops to the Middle East due to rising tensions in the region. The Israeli authorities have introduced a “special situation” regime, the IDF says they are destroying the infrastructure that Hezbollah has been building for 20 years, and missiles are being shot down over Haifa.
The Israeli Air Force carried out more than 300 airstrikes in southern Lebanon in one day. We'll tell you what's going on in the Middle East by Monday evening in a short digest:
— The Israeli army said that within 24 hours it had carried out strikes on more than 1.1 thousand Hezbollah targets in Lebanon.
— The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced 274 dead and 1,024 wounded as a result of Israeli shelling.
— The Bekaa Valley came under attack—most of the shells fell there. Also flew to the cities of Humin al-Fauk, Nabatiyeh, Tire, Ankun, Sidon, Braika, Eliakim, Ainata, Aishie. Some frames show secondary detonations after impacts.
— In response, Hezbollah fired 205 rockets and rockets, some of which were intercepted by the Israeli Iron Dome air defense. According to local media, there are wounded among the civilian population.
— Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu addressed the citizens of Lebanon. Called on residents of areas in the south of the country to leave their homes, saying that once the operation is completed they can safely return to their homes.
— According to the Israeli military, supporters of the movement are hiding weapons, including missiles, in residential buildings.
— One of the members of the Hezbollah leadership, Ali Karaki, was probably eliminated during an Israeli air force raid on the southern outskirts of Beirut, Al Jazeera TV channel reported. Preliminarily, he is the third person in the leadership of the Shiite organization. According to Israeli media, after the death of the commander of the Radwan special forces, Ibrahim Aqil, in a previous airstrike on Beirut, Karaki took his place. If the death is confirmed, this will mean that the Israelis have destroyed the entire military leadership of Hezbollah.
