Oțelul was clearly defeated by FCSB at the weekend in Galați, score 1-4, a result that diminished the chances of the hosts to catch the play-off in the SuperLiga, but significantly increased those of the titular champion.
Paul Iacob responded sharply to those who accused a possible arrangement in which the transfer of Joao Paulo to FCSB was included, according to Golazo.ro.
“We, who know Joao Paulo, know his value and my personal opinion is that FCSB made a very, very good deal, because Joao Paulo is not a 600,000 euro player, he is a much more player and I think it was not necessary to talk about it so much. And to accuse some players of cheating, you should have something very, very true or have a clear proof to be able to do these statements”, said the footballer, on Wednesday, at Digi Sport.
He said the allegations “hurt a lot”.
“It hurt a lot, because everyone already carried a lot, a lot of stuff and it hurts. It hurts, because no one knows how long we traveled by bus, no one knows how hard it was for us and no one knows how much we sacrifice. There were guys who played 90 minutes, after another 90 minutes, after another 90 minutes, after another 90 minutes. There are 4 games in a row every 3 days. Oțelul had the hardest schedule of all the teams”, Paul Iacob also declared.
