On April 25, Norilsk for the seventh time became part of the large -scale international action “Dictation of Victory”, dedicated to the events of the Great Patriotic War.

This year, more than 400 residents of the city took part in testing their knowledge at 11 specially organized sites open to everyone.

In Norilsk, the doors for the participants of the Dictation of Victory opened educational institutions, city libraries, the Norilsk Museum, the Youth Center, as well as the Rock Ridnik, where the enterprise employees were able to write a dictation without separation from production. Schoolchildren and students, employees of the Ministry of Emergencies and military personnel, employees of enterprises and institutions of the city came to check themselves. Representatives of the authorities and the public took an active part – deputies of the city council, members of the local public chamber and youth parliament.

One of the regular participants in the action is Roman Serbin, chairman of the standing commission on urban economy of the Norilsk City Council of Deputies. He shared that history has always been and remains his favorite subject from school years:

“I consider it extremely important to know domestic history, remember the great feat of our people during the war and be proud of ancestors who defeated fascism. This is what helps to realize with whom and for what our guys are fighting today. ”

Participating in the action for many years, he also noted that over the years, the dictation questions become deeper and demand more and more serious preparation, going far beyond the standard school curriculum.

Materials on the topic

By the way, about the preparation: participants could in advance their knowledge using detailed materials and training tests developed by the Russian Historical Society and the action available on the official website. These resources cover key dates, events, names of heroes, commanders, as well as aspects of culture and life of wartime, helping to plunge deeper into the history of the Great Patriotic War.

For many Norilsk people, participation in the Dictation of Victory is not just a test of erudition, but also a deeply personal moment, a tribute to the ancestors. Larisa Neplyakhovich, chairman of the Standing Commission on Social Policy of the Norilsk City Council, said that her grandfather had gone to the front at the age of 17, and a year later he was awarded the medal “For Courage”: “However, by the time I was born, there was no grandfather. The connection of generations is interrupted in one way or another, and today we are those people who should convey the memory of exploits, heroism, about the courage of their ancestors to children and grandchildren, ”said Larisa Neplyakhovich.

The importance of maintaining historical memory and the transfer of her youth was emphasized by Tatyana Skorik, deputy of the Norilsk city council and deputy chairman of the local public chamber. She noted that although gratitude to veterans, of course, lives in the hearts of Russians after decades, the active efforts of adults – teachers and parents are required to maintain and transfer interest in the history of the homeland for the next generation. According to her, the Dictation of Victory is one of such effective and already traditional events, which allows for joint activities to strengthen this connection of times and generations.

Participants who left the sites shared their impressions: many noted the increased complexity of issues that required not only knowledge of dates and surnames, but also understanding the context of events, knowledge of the geography of war, military memorials, heroes, enemy equipment, as well as the cultural heritage of those times. For some, the dictation began to revise his favorite military films, for others it was deeper to study the history of his family.

Participants will be able to find out their results in June on the official website of DicttantPobeda.rf, where you can download a personalized diploma. It is worth noting that applicants who scored the maximum 25 points can receive 10 additional points upon admission to universities, having passed the procedure for obtaining a finalist diploma. The federal winners are waiting for prizes and an invitation to the Victory Parade on May 9 on Red Square in Moscow.

“We teach the story that the present and future be built on the truth. Mistakes of the past should not be repeated. This, perhaps, is the essence of the Dictation of Victory: not only to recall, but also to learn lessons from the greatest tragedy and the greatest feat of the 20th century, ”Roman Serbin summed up after writing the dictation.
