In Bergentheim began the story of Arne Slot. Liverpool's successful coach, who won the Premier League in his first season, is now considered one of the best coaches in the world and this has drawn attention to his native village.
After Slot's successes in Feyenoord, the Dutch press quickly discovered the origins of the successful coach in Bergentheim. The village has already become accustomed to international attention from its performances to Liverpool, English media, such as The Telegraph, The Times and Sky Sports, showing their interest.
“Bergentheim is put on the map, it is wonderful,” says Theun Luisman, honorary member, laughing, for sportnieuws.nl.

The people in Bergenthiem are proud of Arne Slot's performance: “I do not know him personally, but we always check if he has won”
On the Moscou sports field, we meet Aryan Tewarie, one of the members of the local team. Pride is heard in his voice when he talks about the performances of his famous councilor.
“I am truly proud. I do not know him personally, but at home we always check if he won. And that banner” from Bergentheim to Anfield “seems extraordinary. Fantastic for such a small village,” said Tewarie, according to the quoted source.
And Luisman, involved in the club for years, is excited when he talks about the slot. He looked up loyal to Liverpool's matches and tightens his fist when the team wins.
Although the slot was active at the club for only a few years, Bergentheim did not forget. “It is worth it,” says Luisman. “It remains a boy from Bergentheim and we are proud of him”

At the fourth league team, the players of his generation were able to play with the slot for only a short time, because he went to Pec Zwolle at an early age.
“It was clear from the beginning how good it was. It was like the saying with the turtle and rabbit: you don't have to be strong or fast, but intelligent. It has shown this in an exceptional way.”
With this intelligence, Arne laid the foundation for her subsequent career, first as a solid player in Dutch professional football and then as one of the best coaches in the world.
“He knows how to adapt to situations and notice that he can quickly return the fate of a match. This is not a matter of course and it is a true quality of Arne,” says the same resident of Bergentheim, who prefers to remain anonymous. “All the media attention is absurd. You feel overwhelmed.”
