Partial shutdown in the USA. Congress failed to pass a budget
A partial government shutdown began in the United States at midnight on Saturday. This is the result of confusion with the budget, which the US Congress failed to adopt by January 30.
On Friday, the Senate passed a budget bill that includes funds for many federal agencies, but the package is still awaiting adoption by the House of Representatives. The paralysis will last until the document is signed by US President Donald Trump.
Republicans and Democrats do not want to extend the shutdown
In this case Both Republicans and Democrats are trying to prevent the ongoing debate over immigration enforcement from disrupting other government activities. – notes the Reuters Agency.
This is a significant change compared to the record-breaking 43-day shutdown that occurred last fall. Back then, both sides stubbornly defended their positions in the health care dispute, which led to government shutdown, which cost the U.S. economy approximately $11 billion. (approx. PLN 39.1 billion) – emphasizes the agency.
However, the current shutdown, unlike last fall, does not cover the entire federal government. It applies to the Pentagon and the ministries of transportation, housing, health, education and labor, as well as the department of homeland security (DHS). Funds for these ministries are provided for in the budget awaiting adoption by the House. Funding for DHS was extended for two weeks, while the budget for other ministries was extended until September, i.e. until the end of the current fiscal year.

“Government shutdown” in the US. What are the consequences?
Due to shutdown employees of the mentioned ministries may be sent on forced, unpaid leave or will work without remuneration (will be paid to them at a later date).
The shutdown is unlikely to impact Immigration and Border Protection (ICE) and Border Patrol operations in Minneapolis and other parts of the country. According to an NBC News source, ICE employees will continue their duties but will not be paid. Moreover, ICE can continue to function thanks to the funds provided for it in Donald Trump's “one big, beautiful budget bill”.
