Evacuation of over 7,000 people inhabitants of the Kharkiv region


“We need to evacuate 7,157 people to safer places, including 1,702 children and 311 people with limited mobility,” Oleh Synehubov, the head of the military authorities of the Kharkiv region, said on Tuesday.

The forced evacuation applies to residents of seven towns in the Bogodukhiv district in the north of the Kharkiv Oblast, close to the Russian border. The military calls the section of the front from which civilians will be deported the Zołochiv Direction after the name of the urban-type settlement Zołochiv.

The Ukrainian authorities appeal to residents. “We call for saving lives”

Oleh Synehubov said that the authorities, together with volunteer organizations and charitable foundations, will provide those forcibly displaced with everything necessary – temporary housing and medical, humanitarian and legal assistance.

“We call on citizens to save their lives and leave dangerous areas,” reads a message on Telegram.
